Rick‘s Fight Against Cancer - Help an Unsung Hero
Some of you may or may not know, but Rick Carmichael was diagnosed on July 29, 2021 with Stage 4 Pancreatic cancer that has metastasized to his liver. They found a tumor on his pancreas and multiple tumors on his liver. The doctor began chemo treatment the same day as his diagnosis, and on August 26 he had his second round. The current plan is chemo for the next 6 months, followed potentially by surgery.
The chemo has been brutal for Rick, resulting in him no longer being able to work their small business (360 Home Services). Rick has insurance; however, with a $3,000 deductible and the inability to continue working we want to try to help in any way possible to support this incredible family who have selflessly stepped up to help so many others themselves. Outside of helping friends and family, Rick has been volunteering with Team Rubicon Disaster Response, a military veteran volunteer organization, since 2019. His volunteer efforts have included disaster recovery, fire mitigation, onboarding of new volunteers, and Covid response. He is the friend who is there when you need him, willing to help around the house, help with job networking, or even just moral support for others going through hard times.
Anyone who knows Rick and his wife Sheila, know that they have given so much to their loved ones as well as strangers, and now is our turn to help them through this difficult time. We are asking for a goal
of $25,000 to help support Rick and Sheila as they go through this hellish battle with cancer. Anything will help, whether it be to cover medical expenses, bills, or even to get them food deliveries to ease their burden and allow them to focus on winning this fight.
Please share this with others far and wide. We will provide updates from Rick and his family to keep those who love him apprised as he fights this battle. Thank you for your support during this difficult time and for sending Rick, Sheila, and their family all the love, well wishes, and prayers that we can!
