Help, Serious Medical Conditions

We are reaching out due to unexpected,  necessary medical expenses and long distance relocation expenses.  Being on a fixed income we were not prepared for a 3,000 mile cross country relocation.    

 Rick worked 24 years at the Hilton and later retired as a Florida Correction Officer. Always a responsible and hard worker, he was not prepared for these life changes. Since retirement he has had mounting health issues, uncontrolled diabetes, 30% kidney function, 2 cardiac stents, quadruple bypass heart surgery, carotid artery surgery, during COVID he was diagnosed with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic   Leukemia), a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. He also has Cushing Disease that has affected his vascular system and caused insulin resistance.    

With his mounting health issues, it is necessary to relocate back to Florida, where he has a support system of friends and family and doctor’s that have treated him since diagnosis. 

 During the preparation for this move, on April 11th, Rick fell on the concrete. A CAT scan showed he had broken his shoulder in 4 places, cartilage and muscle tears and required complete shoulder replacement surgery. He  has been in and out of the hospital/Rehab for 33 days and just cleared to travel.   

This has set us back financially, extra medical expenses, penalties at the apartment and rearranging the driving time and lodging expenses with one driver.
