Update:
This is an update that is after his 1st full year of cancer. He had a very rough year. Had 2-3 bought of pneumonia, one that earned him an 11 day hospital stay. 7 of those being in ICU. One of the scariest times of my life seeing him with tube's breathing for him and hanging out of his mouth. Dr's preparing us for thr worst. But my husband (Rick) is a fighter that's for damn sure. We had scans this fall and they showed the cancer was on the uptake (which means it's growing again). So the Dr's have added in a new medication that is targeted therapy. The side effect he's getting from it is nausea and fatigue. Hopefully these will subside. He had surgery in November and is steal healing from that.
As always we thank everyone for their support and continued supprt.

that explains where we are in our journey now. Our financial needs were not just a one time need. The expenses and costs are on going. Rick has not been able to return to work yet and we are once again needing help. Please consider helping us again, praying, and sharing our story.

Thank you!

This is a cry for help. This summer, we received devastating news that Rick has Stage 4 prostate cancer. At the same time, we received this news, Rick lost his job. So, we had to deal with trying to pay for expensive COBRA coverage until I could add him to my insurance at my work.

We found out that the cancer had attacked his prostate, bones, lymph nodes, and the outer lining of his stomach. We started aggressive treatment immediately. The doctors said that we can't cure it at this stage, but we can maintain it. Due to it attacking Rick's bones, he hasn't been able to return to work due to the pain. We are in the process of filing for disability, but the state of GA is 3 years behind, and even terminal patients aren't getting pushed up to the top. So, it's going to take a while. During this time, we have been trying to maintain on my salary alone, but it has been a huge strain on us and extremely stressful.

About 2 weeks ago, after getting great news about Rick's scans, we got another blow. His leg started swelling, and his lymph node on his neck started swelling. Scans showed his lymph nodes were enlarged, so now we are back to having a PET scan and a biopsy of the lymph in his neck to see if he has more cancer. They are going to completely remove it. We are so scared of what the results will be.

We need to get some of the stress off Rick so that he can concentrate on fighting for his life. This is a desperate cry for help with our medical and household bills. We are really struggling and wouldn't even consider asking for help unless we were desperate, and we are to that point. We have applied for help, but my income puts us over the limits (which is pathetic). It isn't just Rick and I struggling but our 7 year old is having to deal with this stress as well and that breaks our hearts.

We understand this is the holidays and most people are tight. But if you could possibly find it in your heart to help us out, it would be a complete blessing for us.

God bless everyone, and please keep us in your prayers.
