Rick's Battle for Remission
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Ryan Dellinger, and I am Rick Dellinger's son. I created this fundraiser to help my parents with costs associated with his continued cancer battle. Early in 2021, esophageal cancer was discovered while he underwent surgery for an unrelated issue. We soon found out the cancer was extensive and had already spread to the liver. Despite months of a newly-approved treatment plan, the chemotherapy and radiation did not work as expected. His condition was worsening, so he sought a second opinion at Johns Hopkins. He is currently waiting for final acceptance into a clinical trial and perhaps other treatment options.
This fundraiser is designed to help cover the costs of the treatment at Johns Hopkins. We are unsure how much treatments will cost, how much travel and lodging-related expenses will be required, and what other emergent expenses may arise throughout the course of his treatment. We're hoping this treatment will improve his quality of life and give us more time to make memories, otherwise, my dad may only have months left. At the young age of 44, he has dedicated his professional career to teaching high school American Government and Politics, and has had a positive impact on each and every one of his students, friends, and family.
If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing my dad's story and keeping our family in your prayers. We appreciate your love, support and prayers throughout this journey!
