Medical Fund For Rick Morlan

Donation protected
In October of 2014, my uncle, Rick Morlan, was diagnosed with a type of leukemia called A.L.L.  The diagnosis, which came after routine blood work done for insurance purposes, was a shock to Rick, his wife Vickie, and our entire family. Since October, Rick has gone through chemo and is doing well, but the fight is not over.  In March of 2015, Rick's brother (Randy) courageously donated bone marrow and stem cells to be used in a transplant for Rick. Rick will undergo his part of this procedure sometime around March 25th. Vickie has already had to take an extensive amount of time off work, and will have to take even more off, up to 5 months, to stay with Rick in Denver (where they will have to get an apartment close to the hospital).  My uncle lost his sight at a young age due to retinitis pigmentosa. He was able to make a living for years breaking horses even when his sight was almost totally gone. Today, they rely heavily on Vickie's income. Rick is a life-long resident of Las Animas, Colorado. He is known for his generosity and helpfulness in the roping community-letting many people rope his steers at his home arena at no cost.

We understand not everyone has the money for a donation. What our family appreciates more than anything is your continued prayers and words of encouragement for the family. We ask for prayers for Rick’s health, prayers that Rick would be encouraged and joyful even during the toughest of times, and prayers for peace of mind and heart for everyone who loves this man. We praise God and thank him for his abundant blessings in Rick’s life, and in all our lives. In addition to this page, donations are also being taken in Rick's name at First National Bank of Las Animas.
