Those of us who know Rick Moniz and who have been fortunate enough to interact with Rick on a daily basis know what a truly wonderful person he is. Rick is the guy who would do anything for you. He would give you the shirt off of his back. Rick always has a smile on his face and he would always have something positive to say to brighten your day. Rick has also served our great country as a former member of our armed services.

As some of you may be aware, Rick is currently out on FMLA due to having a stroke at the age of 48!  He is going through extensive rehabilitation.  Right now half his one side of his body doesn’t have sensation.  His vision was also affected.  Unfortunately at this same time, his wife Michele was diagnosed with stage 4 colon and rectal cancer.  The cancer found is substantial at 30 centimeters.  She will need to undergo surgery and chemo treatments, doctors are still unsure in what order.  Rick has two children and one grandson who all live in Phoenix, AZ.  Marcus is 29 and Joe is 26, and his grandson Gage will be 2 in October.   Rick's wife has one son, Pat who is 31,  and is helping out as much as he can.  As I’m sure you can imagine these circumstances have been a huge burden.  Other than the one son, they don’t have any other extended family in this area.  Michele is from New Jersey and Rick is originally from California.  

Rick Moniz is dedicated individual who continually goes above and beyond to help people out on a daily basis. Rick and Michele are in a very hard place right now. I also know that Rick cannot wait to get back to seeing his friends and co-workers and he is surely missed everyday.
