Hi, my name is Alisia, Ricki’s mom. This past year has changed our lives in ways I never imagined. My 28-year-old daughter, Ricki, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and just recently brain cancer. Hearing those words about your child is something no parent is ever prepared for. At an age when she should be dreaming about her future, she is fighting for it.

Alongside treatment decisions, she has been forced to make heartbreaking choices about motherhood, including freezing her eggs before starting cancer treatment—hoping to preserve the chance of becoming a mother one day and building a family with her partner, Rylan. This process is urgent, costly, and largely not covered by insurance.

Between, fertility preservation, medications, travel, and time away from work, the financial strain has become overwhelming. As a parent, it is devastating to watch your child carry so much, and humbling to ask for help.
