My son Rickey was an enthusiastic 35 year old young man with a contagious personality and an infectious smile. Rickey’s life was suddenly cut short when he passed away on the morning of Tuesday July 16th from an unknown cause. Sadly he leaves behind his 16 month old son Maverick and a baby brother who will be arriving on December 25th. Rickey was a man of many talents and passions. He loved nothing more than helping others and pursued that passion as an EMT. He was also getting ready to return to school to enter into a nursing program. Over the course of Rickey’s young life he pursued his interests as a wild land firefighter and paramedic, he became certified as a scuba diver and mechanic, as well as a licensed phlebotomist. He loved sky diving, traveling, being at the beach, eating sushi and he was your go to brewery sommelier. He was also a die-hard Saints and Dodgers fan and was teaching his son to play catch. Rickey was never more excited or happier about being a father and was looking forward to providing his sons with the best opportunities and experiences that life has to offer. For anyone who would like to honor Rickey’s memory, in lieu of flowers, we are asking for contributions to set up a trust fund to help provide for the future of Rickey’s sons. Rickey touched every person he came in contact with and made a lasting impression. Our lives are forever changed and the world will not be the same without him.
