Dear Friends and Family,
On July 5, 2019, my brother (Rick Meneley) was in an altercation that resulted in him falling to the pavement and hitting the back of his head. He was rushed to the ER where a CT scan confirmed the worst (a fractured skull, brain bleeds, and extensive swelling). This resulted in an emergency craniectomy in order to save his life. As of today, 7 days later he is still in a medically-induced coma.
We are resolved in our faith and confident that Rick will make a full recovery, however, the medical staff has braced us to prepare for the worst. Regardless, we know Rick is a survivor, a fighter, and above all else a loyal friend and family member. He would never give up on us so we will never give up on him. Should you feel moved to do so, we are asking you to join us in helping with expenses as they arise (as you can imagine, they already have). Every bit helps and is appreciated. Truthfully, Rick would be pissed that I am soliciting donations on his behalf. I would be pissed too, (that's how we roll) but I am swallowing my pride in order to help my brother.
Thank you for the support this past week (meals, being by our side, visiting, snacks, etc.) and thank you in advance for the support he will need in the coming weeks and months ahead. The steady stream of kind messages, prayer, and words from a seemingly endless bounty of friends speak to the way my brother lived "a damn good guy" life. Personally, I think he's the best of the best.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Jake Meneley
