Rick's Heart

It is with a very heavy heart, I write this about our brother, Rick.  

Rick Grootenboer, loving father, brother, friend complained of having chest and jaw pains on Friday, March 8, 2019.  He was rushed to Littleton Regional Hospital where they determined he would immediately be med flighted to Catholic Medical Center located in Manchester, New Hampshire.  He was diagnosed that same night with an Aorta Aneurism Dissection.  The doctors immediately took him into the Operating Room explaining to us that this was a serious matter and an extensive surgery he would have to endure.  The doctor also told us that he only had hours to live if they didn't operate right away.  

His surgery lasted 8 hours and currently, he is in the ICU in critical condition in an induced coma.  It is going to be a long road to his recovery and will require intensive therapy and numerous medical appointments.  Rick will not be able to return to work for several months. 

Since entering the hospital, the surgery he has undergone is rare for a man in his age group. Those who know Rick would vouch for him being the most caring, loving, kind, warm-hearted, generous old soul.  

He needs the support, prayers and funds to help him through these rough days ahead.  We are requesting funds to help with all aspects of his recovery process.  When Rick is released from the hospital, he is going to need around the clock care, and expensive therapy sessions.  Any small donation would go a long way to save him and help him.  Please keep him in your prayers.
