Coaching at SIU for 32 years, Rick came across athletes and people of all walks of life. If you were lucky enough to have this man in your life you were surely entertained. Through hard times and good times he was a voice of reason and guidance. A man who truly cared about the individuals that made up his team, he helped many achieve their dreams inside and outside of the pool. Many may not know, a dream of his, was to learn to fly. Being so stubbornly humble, this is something he will put to the back burner first chance he gets if it means he can help others. He dedicated over 30 years to helping us soar, it's our turn now. Lets help give him his wings to fly! Go dawgs!!
