Rick’s medical expenses

Hi, my name is Tabitha. I am Rick Shelly’s niece, and I am starting this fundraiser for my uncle after he was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. My uncle and aunt have been married for 44 years and have always been my idle for what a marriage should be like. They raised their two kids in perkasie and still reside in the home today. Last year my aunt Donna started experiencing seizures and health issues that required a lot of attention and care from my uncle. Which he never minded doing because he would care for her through thick and thin no matter what. During that time, he took time off work to be with Donna as much as possible. Thankfully, time and prayers have helped get her through and she is doing much better in recent months. Unfortunately, after that battle they were recently told they have another battle to fight, but for my uncle Rick. He is seeing multiple doctors weekly, and told he cannot work until at least January 2024. As we all know, insurance companies rarely cover very much when it comes to medical expenses. Forcing them to pay out of pocket for appointments, medications and time off work. I know we’re all trying our best to make ends meet in this terrible economy, but even $20 goes a long way if you can afford to donate. In my years around them, I have never seen them ask for anything, but they would give the shirt of their back for anyone. If we can all give a little, I know they would be eternally grateful.
