Rick unexpectedly had a stroke on Wednesday, May 22nd. He was doing his morning routine and making out estimates for a job when he fell off the chair and suffered a stroke. He was given an expensive air lift to Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado where he underwent life saving surgery to remove two blood clots. He was down at Swedish for 38 day trying to develop skills such as swallowing and standing.
Rick has a long road a head to establish movement back on the left side of his body. This week he was transferred to Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins where he will continue his rehab process. Everyday is a constant challenge and growth for him, yet everyday is also an improvement with the ultimate goal of getting him home.
Along with the stress of having our dad in the hospital, the burden of how to pay for the medical bills is taking its toll. Any help we can get financially and mentally would be greatly appreciated. Also, thank you for the continued positive support and prayers as we get through this difficult time.
