Honoring the Life and Legacy of Rick Stevens

On August 29, 2025, Merrick “Rick” Charles Stevens passed away peacefully in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by his daughters. Rick was a devoted father, a beloved teacher, and a man of warmth, humor, and creativity.

Rick dedicated his career to education, serving as a teacher, administrator, and mentor in schools in Maine, Arizona, The Bahamas and California. In 2006, he was named Teacher of the Year at Desert Shadows Middle School, where his passion for teaching and commitment to his students left a lasting mark.

In his memory, we are raising funds to purchase computer headsets and other needed supplies for students in the Special Education Department at Desert Shadows Middle School. This was a community Rick cared deeply about, and providing these resources ensures his legacy continues to support the students he loved.

Every contribution, no matter the size, honors Rick’s lifelong commitment to education and helps students succeed in the classroom.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Rick’s life in a way that gives back to the community he served so faithfully.
