Hello! Our short film, RICK, is the story of a young gay man trying to escape a cycle of violence in his hometown in rural Vermont. This project has been in the works for almost three years, and we finally have the time and resources to be able to pull it off. Our shoot is scheduled for August 6th-9th. We have assembled a small, wonderful cast and crew of (mostly local) artists, and we will practice physical distancing and mask-wearing on set so we can provide as safe an environment as possible before, during, and after our production.
We understand that these are extremely trying times for many due to Covid and police violence, so we are committing the first $1000 that we raise to black trans mutual funds that directly support trans homelessness, gender affirming surgeries, incarceration aid, rent relief, food insecurity, and civil rights (links to the orgs below). The rest of your donations will be for our project, the vast majority of which will go to equipment rentals, paying the artists involved in the project, locations, transportation/lodging for our cast and crew, and post-production. We do not take your donations lightly. Anything you can give will go a long way.
