Rick Osborne's Medical Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hey everyone, this is Dave, Rick Osborne's son in law. Several people have asked, “how can we help?” Or “how can we be a part of contributing to something that Rick needs?”
First, God is great, and He is so good.
He is and has been to Rick, and He is not done yet!
As many of you know Rick was in a car accident on July 10th. Initially he was paralyzed from the shoulders down. He was airlifted to New Hanover where he received two surgeries to “decompress” his c-spine. Part of his clinical diagnoses after those surgeries was “incomplete paralysis.” Since then (other than a couple of coding events, which were temporary bumps in the road) he’s been progressively regaining feeling and movement, and getting stronger.
As of now, after seven weeks, he has come off all machines, had his feeding tube and trach removed and he no longer needs hospital care.
The next part of his journey (or “mission trip” as we have come to call it, since Rick shares his testimony with everyone he comes into contact with) is a deployment to the Shirley Ryan AgilityLab in Chicago for in-house rehab and physical therapy.
How God lined that up and opened doors is an example of his favor at work.
Rick is slated to make that move via air ambulance over the next couple of days.
For those that have a desire to be a part of this process, the transportation to Shirley Ryan is a $22K, out of pocket expense, and an opportunity to give Rick something he’ll actually use.
No pressure, and there is no need; just an opportunity to be a part of this process alongside a man we love.
Rick will walk again!
He will swim with his grandkids again!
God is good!
He is our good Father, our good provider, and Jesus is our healer!
