Rick Mellinger needs our help

Hi, my name is Jordan Dalziel and I am fundraising for Rick Mellinger. Rick was diagnosed with stage 4 Glioblastoma in 2019. It was removed at that time, but unfortunately the cancer has returned. This tumor, known as “the beast” is affecting his brain function and he is unable to work and drive.

If you have been blessed to have met Rick aka Rickles, then you would know that leaving his presence makes you feel loved, and inspired to give to others. Rick has and continues to give back to his community twofold. One of the MANY things he’s done to help his community is starting a small food pantry outside of his home where he stocks it with necessities so that people in need can utilize it. I once asked him, “What do you do about the people who just take items but don’t actually need them?” He replied, “I don’t judge who takes, that’s not my job. I provide.” That statement alone left me with a new outlook on giving to others. Our sole job is to provide and help, not judge. And this is the way Rick has lived his life. We need people like Rick with us to continue to make the world a better place.

Rick is the glue, the rock, and the driving force behind his family and to know that he can’t do the daily activities he so effortlessly does to provide for them breaks my heart. This is where we step in for him. Myself, along with friends, are trying to help Rick and his family during this difficult time. Anything helps, gas cards, food, anything.
