Rick, Kevin and Colossus

If you have come across this GoFundMe then you have most likely been fortunate enough to meet Rick and Kevin, eat at Colossus and know that those two things come together without fail. Rick Johnson unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 while working at Colossus. He leaves behind his partner of more than 40 years, Kevin Purcell and the restaurant he put his heart and soul into, Colossus. The past five years have been trying for Rick, as he and Kevin have gone through personal and business-related matters that have made it extremely difficult to keep their small business afloat. Through these trials, they have managed to keep the doors of Colossus open not only to keep their dream alive but to keep their dedicated employees working and to continue to see the faces of friends who have become family. With Rick's unexpected passing comes obvious expenses; however, the day-to-day costs of owning a business and continuing to live without his longtime partner are still there for Kevin. This GoFundMe will help with the following expenses; cremation and a celebration of life for Rick (date to be determined), living expenses for Kevin and expenses for Colossus to stay open and rent to be paid until a suitable buyer is found. Kevin plans to sell the business as soon as possible and continue his and Rick's dream of retiring and living in his father's house in Savannah.
