Dear Family and Friends,

With a heavy heart, I am announcing the unexpected Death of our beloved father, Richard (Rick) Hamlin. Like so many during this time, we are devastated.

For those of you that had the joy of knowing him, you knew that he was genuine, kind, and willful. There was not a single day he didn’t have a smile on his face. His death is shocking, and naturally, our family is heartbroken. He was 64 years old and sadly left us way too soon. With a man as special as my dad, truly, you could never have had enough time with him.

Rick’s genuine love and compassion for everyone he met was so rare. He brightened the lives of so many with his belly laugh, sense of humor, and selfless means of caring and loving for everyone he encountered. Even with the little he had, he was always giving and helping others, and his generosity was unmatched and marked so many lives forever. He will be so deeply missed and has left a huge hole in our family.

As you can imagine, my brother and I were not at all prepared for the financial burden that comes along with a proper funeral service and burial. In place of flowers, we ask that you consider donating funds to help cover his funeral expenses.

So you know exactly where your donation will be used, we are planning a modest but proper ceremony. Every little bit helps. Our desire is to have a celebration of life in Denver, Colorado, and in Clinton, New York, with both the communities he loved so much. Because we know his final wish would be to be buried alongside his dad, mom, and sisters in Clinton, New York.

The funeral and associated costs: Funeral service in Denver and grave-side service in New York, Printed materials, Service Staffing, Photos, and tributes.
Cremation & Burial costs: Cremation & Plot in Clinton, New York, Headstone, and transportation.
Celebration of Life: We hope to have a modest post-funeral celebration of life in Denver, Colorado, and Clinton, New York, to have proper time to honor and celebrate his life with those he loves.
Unexpected Expenses: End-of-life planning, settling his finances, closing his painting business, handling his belongings, and final wishes.
