Rick Grimm Memorial Fundraiser for VWLL (2023)

Rick Grimm was a beloved husband and father who passed away in August of 2018 after complications following a surgery. Additionally, he was a long-time coach/manager of Valley West Little League. His contributions to the league, the players, and the community are immeasurable and something that he was very proud of. You may have noticed the rock memorial in his honor at the park. His kids (Kelly, Rick, Ashley, Gina, and Chris) and his wife (Jane) spent countless hours at Whispering Willows, and all have some of their best memories with their father/husband through Valley West LL.

We have decided to create an annual fundraiser to continue the work and contributions of Rick Grimm to support Valley West Little League well into the future. As the next generation of "Grimms" are getting into sports (some at Valley West Little League), we find it only appropriate to honor him this way. We hope that our family, friends, and the current/past Valley West Little League community will help us honor Coach Grimm and support this amazing league.

Game Plan:

Annually run a fundraiser to raise money for Valley West Little League around opening day.
50% will be collected to support families to defray costs associated with membership for their kids in the league or expenses related to participation in Valley West Little League All-Stars.
50% will be collected and used at the board's discretion to help with the league's projects or expenses of most significant importance.
We will use a fundraising platform (e.g. gofundme.com) to collect the funds and will present a check to the Valley West Little League President annually after the fundraiser.
We will run the fundraiser for two to three weeks so that Valley West Little League has access to the necessary funds.
