Rick Desira

On Tuesday September 17th, our friend Rick took very ill and found himself in the hospital with multi-system organ failure. As the hours passed, more issues continued to arise and the prognosis became very grim. He was in such bad shape that we had a hospice consultation to discuss keeping him comfortable during what we feared were his last days  

But, like Lucas Moura in the 95th minute of the Champions League Semifinal, Rick fought hard to live and has slowly defied the odds. He is not completely out of the woods yet, but has made such incredible progress that it is time to start thinking about his life once he’s been discharged from the hospital—and that’s where we all come in. 

Rick will have to continue to receive outpatient treatments, which will prevent him from working. We’re looking for help to ensure that he continues to heal by providing funds to cover his living costs (rent, food, transportation to doctors appts, etc) until we can ensure his long-term security and get him back in his seat at The Atlantic for his beloved Spurs matches.
