Dad (Rick) was diagnosed with Bells Palsy March of 2016...... 2 years later diagnosed with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC), not Bells Palsy.... ACC is a rare type of cancer, dads is in the Parotid gland and major salivary gland, it also is infiltrated and effecting a plot of facial nerves. With everything going on now and what our family went through last summer, the loss of his wife and our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend Lori Cassman in June 2017. Then After dealing with the loss of his wife in January 2018 dad lost his job.
That brings us to today when he has been diagnosed with ACC, starting radiation at the U of MN on Monday 4/23. With this type of cancer chemotherapy is not effective and surgery is not an option. The tumor has already affected his speech, the right side of his vocal cords are paralyzed, his swallowing is affected and will get worse with radiation, the right side of his face is paralyzed. With starting treatment and not working financial means are going to be slim, if you can donate anything will help. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts.
