Rick Benz was one of the most honest, authentic, and loyal people I have ever met. He was always there when you needed him; he wasn't afraid tell you the truth (especially when you needed to hear it the most); and he would never change who he was for anyone or anything.
His passing was a shock to us all. A man who had touched the hearts of so many people over the years. Whether you were family, friends, coworkers, or patrons; you instantly knew your life was blessed by just knowing him. So as you mourn the loss of such an amazing person, I ask that you remember and celebrate the time you had with Rick. Remember the times he made you laugh (proving to you, he can ride a bike with no hands), made you mad (yelling at you when you held your hand the wrong way in cards), and made you love him all the more (carving out 15 minutes in between jobs to have a drink with you at the bar because he didn't want you to drink alone).
I am going to ask for one more thing; to open your hearts and wallets to help the Benz family as they go through difficult time. As most people know, funerals are an expensive service. Any help we can give the Benz family, is aid we can give them that will help allow them to remember the good times with Rick more and worry less about the expenses that go with this tragic time.
Thank you all for your donations, your memories (the memories shared on Facebook have been amazing), and most of all your love.
