Over the last year Rick's health has been steadily declining with no doctor explanation. Over the last two months Rick has taken a sharp turn, losing roughly 50lbs and becoming emaciated. After several doctors visits at their home in Puerto Rico (and several visits without results on the mainland) they believe Rick has Achalasia. Achalasia is a rare disease affecting the esophagus from passing food into the stomach. What this means is until further treatment Rick is basically starving to death. They are taking an emergency trip back home to Salt Lake this Friday to see a specialist (Utah has several). Sadly being a rare disorder and having specialist working potentially outside their health insurance coverage, this could be financially devastating for them. As they are both tattoo artists their is no medical leave, government benefits, really any assistance. If you know Rick Mcgrath and Amanda Powell, they are two of the most generous, kind, adventurous and fun people you will ever meet. And right now friends they need our help!! Anything helps, we all know a little from a lot goes a long way.
