Surgery for Richter

Donation protected
UPDATE 3/20/2019
Richter has now seen a Ultrasound Specialist and a Splenectomy has been ruled out but noticed a small nodule in the spleen that is not of concern. As for //almost// diagnosis, Richter has been diagnosed with possible cancer of the jejunum (intestines) or a case of intestines overlapping. It's an uncommon case and caught us offguard.

This kind of surgery is an exploratory one. If we discover it is cancer, the affected section will be removed and intestines will be realigned. If it is his intestines overlapping itself, then the section will be realigned.
The surgery is estimated to be a max of $1,500. He needs it soon because the damaged could progress. Without treatment his intestines will continue to "eat" themselves until that section dies, which will caused a lethal infection.
At this case, if everything is clean, Richter has a life ahead of him! But we still need the money to do the surgery. Your donations have helped pay for our steps this far, now we need another thousand for his surgery!

Please share with as many people possible to help us! We've been getting such great news and we're ecstatic we don't have to put him down! All of your help has really taken us a long way and we finally have answers. We appreciate every one of you guys helping us!

STORY
Saturday March 2, our beloved family dog Richter, 7 years old, was emitted to Emergency Care after a series of violent vomiting and low heart rate.

After examination the vet confirmed his spleen needed removal, resulting in a Splenectomy. Without treatment the condition is fatal.

(Richter twitching from pain and lethargic)

Richter was quickly transported to BluePearl Animal Hospital. Due to financial limitations, the doctor at BluePearl  could not work on Richter for more thorough examination or testing.

He was transported and is now under care at Kinslow Vet Clinic and has been temporarily treated with Sub-Q Fluids for hydration, Buprenorphine, and Cerinia for pain and nausea.

We fear because of him refusing to eat that his organs will shut down, so liquid feeding may be in the future.

CURRENTLY
Richter has been doing MUCH better. His condition was due to inflammation of his intestines which caused the vomitting, low heart rate, and lack of appetite. He's recovered very well, but not fully. He still has very bad days but he's much better than he was before. His food has been switched to a much lighter diet, which he loves.

Richter went in for a ultrasound by a specialist March 20th, 2019, and has been diagnosed with one of two this: Cancer of the jejunum (intestines), or intestinal overlapping. Without treatment the section that has been overlapped could die and create lethal infection. Richter will undergo exploration surgery to discover what the ultrasound could not.

CURRENT BILLING
Thank you all for your donations and sacrifices. You managed to pay for 90% of our bills and we are so grateful! Richter is due in to surgery (TBA) and the surgery will cost a max of $1,500. It is very important that we have the money to do the surgery before the end of next month due to the situation possibly progressing worse. Please help us!

Any donations are extremely appreciated.
