Rich’s spinal surgery and support for family

Hello, I am reaching out to ask for help for our family. As many of you know in June Rich re injured his back. He has had issues with his back for almost 20 years but this time was different. While he has tweaked it here and there this injury has caused him horrible pain and has made it impossible to work or really live daily life as he is used to. Initially he tries to push through the pain and go to work. However when you install appliances and lifting is a good portion of your job it just was too much pain to handle. During this time Rich has consulted numerous doctors, physical therapists etc. and has had to endure multiple MRIs, muscle tests etc for us to be told in August that he will need to undergo Spinal surgery Monday September 11th. He will need to be in the hospital overnight as well as a lengthy recovery. The surgery is not a guaranteed to fix the issue however the pain will hopefully be eliminated. The biggest issue is that his nerve is being damaged and it is causing him not to be able to use his legs well. His spine is narrowing and so the goal is to remove the part that is affecting the nerve and get him to be able to use his muscles again. All of this has definitely been a lot for him. Rich is NEVER one to ask for help. He helps everyone around him, supports his kids in all of their endeavors and is there anytime they need him. This whole situation has caused our family a large financial hardship. We both work full time however trying to live off of what little savings we had and my salary has proven next to impossible. Rich has filed disability but still has yet to see a payment. We were struggling but making it work for the most part. However we were delivered a bombshell when we were told the copay for his surgery will need to be paid before he can have the surgery. The multiple test appointment’s and medications have drained out health savings and with no second paycheck we are slowly starting to buckle. Anything you are able to give is greatly appreciated. This is not easy for either of us but this surgery is desperately needed and we need to be able to provide for our kids. They love their dad so much and want him to be able to do all the things he used to. Please keep our family in your prayers as well. This has been an extremely difficult few months and it took a lot for me to sit down and ask for the much needed help. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
