One of my previous employee and now a very good friend Rich Chiniquy, recently received second degree burns trying to save his carpet cleaning van. This Van is what provides Rich's the ability to provide for his family. Rich has built this business by giving customers the best service and results in the business. He has cleaned our home and my office in the past 6 months on two occasions. He doesn't have employees doing the work, he does it all. This way he knows things are done right.
Just last week while moving his van at the request of his client he forgot to secure a gas can. His little giant propane heater feel over igniting the gas and burning the van and all of his equipment. As Rich scrambled to try to save his van to put out the fire he received 2nd degree burns to his legs. His legs look like they will require skin grafts which will be an enourmous expense to Rich and his family. With the van a total loss Rich is in dire straights and needs our help.
Rich had had just recently upgraded his carpet cleaning van by purchasing on contract from another carpet professional he knows. He was only one payment into this process when it burned up. One would think making an insurance claim would take care of things but the seller won't submit due to a prior claim his business had. Rich's claim would make the other mans premiums skyrocket. I asked Rich to push him but because the seller of the van had just recently sold it to Rich on contract and Rich has only paid the one payment for the van. Rich wasn't exactly following protocol with a gas can unattached while moving his van with a propane heater running.
With Rich out of work now for 3-4 weeks, medical bills are adding up and he has no van to return to when he can get back to work. I am asking all my friends and colleagues to donate all they can to help a man who's got a heart of gold. Rich is a good man who's been through his share of trials in life before this taking place and deserves a break. I hope we can all work together by donating any amount possible to give Rich the ability to get back to work so he can support his family.
I've been impressed with the business Rich has built the past few years that I can't turn a blind eye to his circumstances and not reach out and try to help. Like I said Rich does all the work himself and works as hard as anyone I've ever seen. He's cleaning carpets from dawn until after dark. Heck it still takes 2 weeks for me to get on his schedule, but its always worth the wait.
Lets all help Rich so he can find a van that he can equip with the tools he needs to get back in business.
Please donate what you can. No matter how large or small every dollar counts. I will be indebted to each of you as this is a personal favor to me. I want to show Rich I've appreciated all he's done for me the time he work with me and how he's always helped with a few repairs at the office or my home. He's always willing and knows how to do about anything you can imagine.
Thanks to each of you in advance for your donation. Rich is a great Dad and family man that's now got incredible stress about how he will be able to take care of his bills and family. He deserves a break so lets all work together and be that break he needs and deserves.
