The recent news of Saltonstall crossing guard Richie Lander's unexpected passing was a shock. Through quick conversations with his wife Collette, also a fellow Salts crossing guard, we learned that Richie's funeral expenses far exceeded what the couple had put aside. The thought of anyone navigating financial stress in the wake of suddenly losing a spouse is heartbreaking.

As part of the Saltonstall community, our family has been lucky to have gotten to know both Collette and Richie over the past 4 years. They've always been good to us (and especially our dog Ninja). Wanting to help in some way, we created this fundraiser to offer the Salts community an opportunity to chip in if they want and are able to. It's well understood that this is a challenging time financially for many families. There is absolutely no expectation of participation, and no contribution is too small.
