Hello,
I am Kelly Batista and my brother, Rich, has small cell lung cancer. It's a tough one to beat and requires the highest levels of chemotherapy and radiation, just to gain a few months. Maybe a year?
Since he was first diagnosed and given 2 to 4 months to live, my bother has fought tirelessly and endlessly to live life while living with cancer. He has been so brave and strong while fighting and enduring many life changes.
In January, he separated from his wife and two months later, in March, he was diagnosed with this devasting desease. Two months later we lost my husband to a sudden heart attack. Rich loved Duane and took his death very hard, especially while fighting for his own life.
Today, Rich is waiting for his three month scan results. As you can imagine, his doctor bills have been climbing, Most noteably his bills concerning therapy to cope with all of the devasting events he has been through this past year. HIs insurance does not pay for these services, but they are instrumental to his mental and emotional well being.
He needs an outlet to talk about the challenges he faces, but the cost is very high. Life for Rich would be even more difficult without being able to see his therapist of 8 years. Please help us raise money to offset the cost of these bills, so that Rich can continue to get the support he truly needs.
