Richard's Fight with Cancer, Stroke, and PV

Donation protected
On March 20th, my dad was rushed to the ER at 7:30am after extreme signs of aphasia. A blood clot was found in the left side of his brain and was removed. He lost the ability to write, read, and struggles greatly with finding words/speaking.

It all started in September when my dad took an unusual amount of time to heal from a cold. In October, he began vomiting and showing signs of strong fatigue. Doctor appointments recommended pain medication for his severe headaches and he was diagnosed with high blood pressure.

My dad was found to have a cancerous lump on his kidney and signs of a past stroke. It took 4 months for them to remove the kidney and they neglected to tell us he had a blood disorder (Polycthemia Vera). This blood disorder would not be treated until a week before his stroke (it was found in November of last year). It is believed to be what caused his stroke.

We are unsure where to go from here, whether we can possibly claim medical malpractice for the delay in his Polycythemia vera treatment, or if his PV would qualify him for disability.

We are so grateful my father is still here, every night so far has been sleepless as we grieve his stroke and other events leading up to it. our financial situation is a nail in the coffin for us, we are trying to find the positives, really trying. We dont want our father to work anymore, we want him to have some sort of peace, something he hasn't had for a long time. He feels a tremendous guilt for all this, things he cant control. He's unable to communicate clearly, but tears are universally understood.

Any help at all means the world, any donations would go straight to living expenses, current medical bills, and my fathers future treatments.

Please tell those close to you their importance and your love for them. Thank you to anyone who can help in any way.
