Richard's Battle Against Cancer

Family and friends,
March of this year my father’s life was altered once he received the diagnosis of stage four metastatic colon cancer. My father is the strongest man I know; a father of two who has given his entire life to his family, the best dad I could ever have. He has undergone six brutal rounds of chemotherapy targeted in one direction, and recently under went another two rounds of chemo targeted in another direction. Although the chemotherapy has so many awful side effects, he always manages to make sure my family is okay first. Each round includes three forms of medication due to his advanced form of cancer. It is now known that the chemotherapy has not been effective no matter the fight he has put on. And trust me, he has been fighting, from the nausea to the pain to the strict dieting and medication regimens. And of course because our family will not surrender, we have seeked out an alternative treatment at the Burzynski clinic in Houston, Texas. The treatment is classified as “alternative” therefore our insurance fails to assist in the costs. We have all kept this journey very personal, but at this point, it is time to include our friends and family in this fight. With great faith in our Lord and optimism in our hearts we reach out to you. Please, help my father to the finish line.
