Hello everyone, I am reaching out because our dearest friends of 27 years need help. Vicky and Rick Wilbanks are a true love story. They met in Mt. Pleasant, TX and fell in love at age 14; they have been happily married for over 44 years. Rick worked as an attorney for many years; while in his 50's he was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's Disease (PD) and had to stop working several years ago. He used a Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) for many years to treat his PD; in early January 2022, he underwent surgery to replace the DBS. There have been multiple medical complications following the surgery, including pneumonia, and he remains medically fragile. Vicky has been with Rick every day and has not been able to work for a couple of months. We are unsure how long Rick will have to reside in a local Nursing Home while slowly recovering.
