And it was a hit-and-run. My very close friend, Richard Modiano, a poet and the Director at Beyond Baroque, was riding his bike when a speeding car rammed into him. Long story short, he ended up in the hospital in the ICU, with several broken ribs and damage to his kidney. Luckily, after several days, he was released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.

I am asking our community to come together to help support Richard with some of his immediate needs. As you all know, he has given so much of himself to Beyond Baroque and the artist community, I’d like to reciprocate and thought others might like to help, too. 

Richard has many needs in the aftermath of this near tragic hit-and-run. Richard lives a very modest life, and we would be providing some of the basics, such as food, communication, and transportation. For example, he does not have a smart phone, which he now needs, so he can use the Lyft app to get around. It is going to be a while before he is back on a bicycle, which, unfortunately, was stolen after he got hit, so he needs a new bike.

Fortunately, Richard is dearly loved and has received an outpouring of calls and messages on social media, which have raised his spirits greatly and definitely help in the healing process. Additionally, I am asking for your support to help ease his financial stress while he heals. 
No amount is too small. Thank you for whatever you can do.
