In October 2017, Richard Uhinck lost his balance while working on the roof and fell off. Being the stubborn man he is, he didn’t see a doctor for it until a few months later that confirmed he would need back surgery. In July 2018 he started to feel ill and he finally went to the hospital where he was diagnosed with liver failure, kidney failure and cirrhosis of the liver. He was then put on a waiting list for a new organ but after a few trips in and out of the hospital due to the cirrhosis, an infection started and he was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, January 21 2019. On the morning of February 4, 2019 he stopped breathing for 17 minutes before the doctors brought him back. At this point, all his organs started to fail and he no longer responded to pain. By the time we was moved to ICU his family was told he only had roughly one more hour to live. He then passed away that evening. Richard was a highly intelligent, stubborn and wonderful husband, father and friend.
In the months of his illness, he was denied disability and the bills have been piling up. His wife Jeannie was only able to work part time while she was caring for him at home. One daughter is currently laid off of work and the other is a full time college student. Any donation would help and if you can’t help financially, please send up a prayer for the family to help them get through this hard time and focus on their family. Thank you.
