Richard's Recovery From Eye Cancer

Richard Clegg was diagnosed with a Malignant Melanoma  Choroidal Tumor in his right eye on February 5, 2018. This was discovered when he visited a retinal specialist due to a detached retina.  Richard had visited an eye specialist because he was losing the vision in that eye.

    Richard being a Medical Qigong Practitioner and Integrative Therapist immediately began  Qigong practices which includes intention to reduce the tumor.

    He was   referred to Dr Marr at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center,  Ophthalmology Oncology Specialist. At his first appt with Dr. Marr the tumor was measured again and found to have reduced from 9 mm to 7.6 mm already. At the strong suggestion of Dr. Marr (whom we came to respect and admire very much) an appt for surgery for brachytherapy was scheduled.  So Richard had the radiation seed placed in his eye while hospitalized for 4 days and then it was removed. The treatment expectation is that the radiation kills the malignant cells and then in time the tumor reduces

    Two weeks post surgery Richard traveled to Florida to attend 4 days of class with Lisa Van Ostrand, Medical Qigong Doctor.  During class it was decided that Lisa would exclusively give  Qigong treatments to Richard. The topic being discussed in class happened to be cancer! He also rec’d treatments from Therese Balagne -acupuncturist upon his return from Florida and had counsel and treatment with Andrew Huey -acupuncturist in NYC

     Richard returned to Dr. Marr for his one month post surgical appt and Dr Marr was astounded in his healing progress.  It was found that it was hard to tell that he even had had surgery. Dr. Marr also noted that the tumor had reduced now to 6mm.  The normal expectation is that post treatment the tumors do not BEGIN to reduce until the 3 month post treatment time.

     His recovery was so advanced the Dr. Marr asked if Richard could keep a log of all the alternative treatments so perhaps this could be of aid to others.  Thus far this has been a wonderful example of the complement of eastern and western medicine at its best.   At the time of this posting, Dr Marr has contacted Richard to ask if he would consult with a patient who is open to Eastern Medicine approach that has served Richard so well.

      Richard is now attending,  along with his wife who is also a Medical Qigong Practitioner a week long retreat with Dr. Kevin W Chen in Maryland for cancer recovery with Qigong and then traveling to China for wellness clinics to continue his healing.   Western Medicine has given him their best but to continue to support his complete and full recovery he needs to continue with the eastern modalities. Our hope of course is for Richard’s return to full health but also as dedicated Qigong Practitioners to bring these modalities  and this journey back to treat others.


The reason for this Gofundme campaign are two fold.

The first is to share this story( please share) so people can realize there are viable alternatives available to them that succeed.

The second reason is to raise $5000.00 for Richard s recovery.  The two trips will cost in excess of $10,000.00.
