The Nebraska, South Dakota, and Colorado communities lost a cherished member on January 22nd, 2024 with the passing of Richard Kipena, also known by his stage name, Sterling Rose. Richard touched many different communities throughout his life, creating many personal connections and wonderful friendships with many people across the entire country. Over the years, Richard found love and created a chosen family with his husband Trevor Sterkel, also known as Treasure Rose.

With the sudden loss of Richard, Trevor is left to handle all funeral and memorial arrangements with the assistance of Richard's biological family, specifically his mother Dory. We all know that funeral costs can be quite a burden. Anything willing to be donated will go towards the costs related to the funeral, and anything beyond that will be distributed to help with other costs associated with the passing of Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM at the Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral Home in Kearney, Nebraska on Tuesday, January 30th.  Address is 2421 Avenue A Kearney, NE 68847

Richard created a beautiful Rose Garden, not only in the chosen family he created alongside Trevor but in everything he did.

He will be greatly missed.
