Richard Hirst
Following Richard's sad and untimely death on May 8th 2020, we have received some amazing and heartfelt messages and wishes of condolence from his many friends and family. Richard, a wonderful husband, Dad, Grandad and friend, was dearly loved by so many and considered a legend within the cycling community. His loss has left us bereft and we will miss him greatly.
In honour of Richard's memory, instead of flowers, we are asking people to make donations to a charity that was close to his heart and one that means a great deal to our family.
The Vindolanda Charitable Trust aims to excavate and preserve Roman remains in the central sector of The Hadrian's Wall World Heritage Site for public display, research and education. This famous Roman site is located just a few miles from the family home in Northumberland and we have many happy memories of visits throughout the years.
