Richard Henderson, our beloved former Lifestyles Director who has dedicated 18 years at The Craig in uplifting others and creating joyful experiences for the community recently underwent a lifesaving lung transplant that will significantly improve his quality of life.
Richard has been fighting pulmonary disease for several years. Recently his condition escaladed to a critical stage where each breath became a struggle, yet he continued to work tirelessly. He made four trips to UT Southwestern in Dallas, each time hoping for a new set of lungs, only to return home filled with disappointment and uncertainty. However, everything changed on his birthday December 20th, when he received a call that brought new hope. It was the most incredible combination of a birthday and Christmas gift-a chance at a renewed life. Richard underwent lung transplant surgery on December 21-truly a Christmas miracle! He is currently at his sister’s in Dallas preparing for a 3 month or longer recovery.
While this procedure offers hope for a brighter future, it also comes with substantial financial burdens. The costs associated with post operative care, medication, and rehabilitation are overwhelming, and unfortunately, Richard does not have the resources to cover theses expenses.
Throughout his career, Richard has touched countless lives, bringing joy and camaraderie to so many, and now it’s our turn to support him during this challenging time. We are seeking your generous donations to help offset the medical costs and ensure Richard can focus on his recovery without the stress of financial worry.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference and bring us one step closer to easing Richard’s burden. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign within your network would be greatly appreciated and can help spread the word.
Thank you for your kindness and support. Together, we can help Richard regain his strength and continue spreading joy in our community.
