Support Richard Helle's fight against brain cancer

Richard Helle suffered a hemorrhagic stroke on Monday, February 27th, 2023. Kay, his wife of 41 years called 911 immediately and help arrived quickly. They were able to intubate him in the field and brought him to Harborview in Seattle.
He immediately had a CT scan that confirmed the bleed and he was identified as a candidate for emergency brain surgery. He had a right-sided decompressive craniectomy. Less than six hours from the time Kay called an ambulance, Richard was out of surgery and resting in his ICU bed.
Over the past few weeks, we've seen promising progress and he seems to be getting stronger every single day.
On Wednesday, March 23rd, it was discovered that the bleed was caused by Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer. He will need a very strong treatment plan, including radiation.
Kay does not drive and relies on Uber for rides to and from Harborview. Uber has been extremely helpful to reduce the stress and anxiety associated with city driving.
There is a long road ahead and Rick will likely need more minor and major procedures. Being close to him the night before, so we can see him right away in the morning would be a relief, as well.
Kay lives alone and is obviously devastated. Some nights, it's hard to cook- let alone eat. DoorDash and Amazon Fresh are helpful in getting food to her.
Any financial contributions would be appreciated and would be utilized for Kay and her family's access to the hospital and to assist them with meals and comfort.
