Help Richard get to Nationals in Detroit!
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amber, and I'm fundraising for my son Richard. Richard is 17
and a junior in high school. Currently, he is in his school's JROTC program and a proud
member of their bowling team. Well truth be told; our family is a bowling family! Richard
has been bowling since he was about 5 or 6 years old. We got him into bowling at an
early age to see if he would enjoy it like his dad and I do. This was also a wonderful
opportunity for him to enter the bowling alley’s scholarship program. I was lucky enough
to be in the youth bowling program when I was younger, and I wanted both of my boys
to have that opportunity as well. What is great is they have the same Youth Director that
I did! He was able to see me grow and now he coaches my boys while watching them
grow up.
Richard is in multiple leagues throughout the week, and he works hard to get
better and better. Well, his hard work finally paid off! This July 2024 he won a spot to go
to Jr. Gold Nationals but it's in Detroit, Michigan!! This is not the first time he has had
this opportunity as unfortunately in the past we were not able to take him due to work
and financial situations. This year we have a chance to take him to Jr. Gold Nationals,
but we need a little help getting him there!
Next year he will be a senior and shortly after that he has hopes of joining the
Military, so this is our last chance to make this dream come true. If you are able to,
please help Richard in donating and/or sharing! The money would help pay for a
minimum of 10 days in the hotel as well as obtaining a rental car as our vehicle is not
suitable for that long drive. We are unable to fly as there are four of us travelling and
while the cost of travel is very high on its own, we cannot risk the airlines losing the
bowling equipment on the flight.
I am more than happy to keep everyone updated on his status during this major
competition! I will also note all his accomplishments below! Richard, his dad, myself,
and the rest of our family appreciate all your support. Thank you so much for your time!
