Hello, my name is Richard Gardner. I come from the tiny village of Ong, Nebraska. I’ve been battling with health issues for the better part of 4 years ever since I had my first pulmonary embolism back in 2021. Since then, I’ve been diagnosed with congestive heart failure, chronic kidney disease, and COPD, among other things. Last month, while being hospitalized for a severe bladder infection, I went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated. My team of medical professionals were unanimous in their diagnosis that there was nothing that could be done moving forward. It was recommended that I consider going under the care of hospice. After much conversation with family and close friends, I decided that hospice was the best option. I’ve accepted my fate. Besides, I’ve had a good run .

The unfortunate part of my journey is the overwhelming financial responsibility that comes along with closing up shop. With most of our funds going towards hospital expenses, we are certain that we won’t have nearly enough money for a proper funeral because of our financial circumstances. Minimal funeral expenses start around $4000. This has become a very big stress for my family and myself. Keeping me from being able to enjoy the end of my journey . I plan on being cremated and even have my urn picked out. I humbly ask that if you are able to help, please do. If not financially, I could sure use a prayer or two.
