On July 7, 1961, Richard G. Hilbert Jr. entered this world, born to Patricia and Richard (Whitey) Hilbert Sr. of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. As Richard journeyed through this life, he touched countless lives and created a loving, close-knit family. On Friday, March 6, 2020, Richard gracefully departed from this world. Behind him, he has left an enormous legacy of a faithful husband, and a devoted father.
Richard was one of five siblings, raised in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. He would spend the next fifty-eight years of his life laughing and living beside those that he loved most. In 2011, Richard married the love of his life, Annette, who remained his partner, committed wife and champion for almost a decade of marriage. Along with this union Richard welcomed two of his best joys in life: Amanda and Joshua. In their minds and hearts, Richard will be remembered as an endlessly supportive father, a best friend, and a true force to be reckoned with.
Richard was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1979. Some of Richards favorite past times include grilling, fishing, baking, being outdoors and spending time with his family. Richard was an avid sports fan rooting for the Tennessee Titans during the winter and the New York Yankees during the summer.
Richard is survived by his mother Patricia, his siblings Deborah, Judy, and Wendy, and his dearest wife Annette. His daughter Amanda and son Joshua along with his wife, Annette, will be eternally blessed with memories accumulated throughout their lives. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws Stewart Marsh and Scott Palmer, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, his beloved dog Sissy, and every single soul who his spirit has touched.
