Family of Richard Bennett
As many of you know Richard passed away January 29th at Providence St Vincent Hospital in Portland; he was 53 years old. Anyone who knew Richard, knows how devastating this has been to our family. He had been hospitalized since December 13th, 2016. After a multitude of tests and surgical procedures, Richard was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. By the time of diagnosis, he only had 3 weeks - 6 months to live. Following a surgical procedure, Richard suffered a traumatic brain injury and passed away 2 days later with his wife Pam, daughter Tela and niece by his side.
Richard was a caring, loving, giving and kind man, who always knew how to make people smile. He was a dedictated and passionate employee of Butler Automotive Group for 20+ years that always went above and beyond. Richard definitely made his mark on the community and our hearts.
Richard leaves behind his wife Pam, daughter Tela, son in law Matthew Watson and 4 grandchildren. Richard's grandkids Chase, Kailee, Aubree and Jacob were everything to him. He played soccer, barbies, doctor... and anything else to make them laugh and smile! He was the best "papa" anyone could ask for! Richard will be desperately missed and never forgotten.
Our family is now faced with the reality of paying for a 2 month hospital stay, extensive testing and surgical procedures; on top of normal monthly expenses. Pamela is currently unemployed, as she was caring for and advocating for Richard.
Donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
The Bennett/ Watson Family
