Richard and Mollie Battles

Hey, friends! Thanks for donating so far. I know it truly means a lot for Richard and Mollie. Here is an update from Mollie herself. I’m so glad she finally has some answers! 

“From Mollie: So Wednesday the 23rd the day before Thanksgiving I had an MRI of my brain. Previously they told us they wouldn’t be read until Friday and we would get results Monday. At 2:40 that afternoon my doctors office called to have me come in to go over my results that day, so I had an immediate feeling that there was some sort of problem. Waiting in the room my gut was in knots and the doctor walked in with the worst poker face I’d ever seen and sadly I wasnt holding any cards. Mollie she said, we found the reason that has caused all of this and I instantly broke into tears out of relief, after being told they can’t find a reason over and over, After being told you’ve been too stressed and had a nervous breakdown, you don’t really eat right and are you sure it’s that much of a struggle to walk and talk . There was an actual reason and I wasn’t to blame for it! That was a victory to me! But then she follows that up with it’s your brain, there are many things wrong with it. Richard who is already facing the ground out of nervousness grabs my hand in a quick second and we squeeze each other as we listen to her name several things that we don’t know which sound scary and then several things we do know which are even scarier. For that moment I was alone in a room with my husband frozen in time with the weight of the world on our chests or should I say on my head. No autoimmune diseases, no stroke, no nervous breakdown that could have caused all this. But a very sick brain. I have severe cranial pressure, hydrocephaly, flattened and damaged pituitary gland are just a few things. We will see a neurologist asap and see if brain surgery is needed and see what is causing this pressure and fluid. Which it sounds more than likely so. This also may require a hospital stay. I live daily now with bad headaches that don’t feel normal, which now we know why, it’s all this cranial cranial pressure. But we were told if they get really bad to where I feel like it’s searing through my head and making me nauseous that we need to go to the ER or call an ambulance immediately as the headaches can be fatal. We let her know I get those headaches daily! And that is when she said they may choose to have me stay in the hospital just for observation. They changed my referral to see the neurologist from just a regular referral too. STAT URGENT it now says. We will hopefully find out so much more from the neurologist who we are praying I will see very very soon and they will be able to give us a lot more clear picture Of what we are dealing with. My symptoms keep me sick most of the time, terribly sick and my husband has been my saving Grace. He was fired from his job early on while taking care of me and he needs to be back at work but there is no one else who can do what he does for me. While it is truly humbling and a head bowing low feeling to have to do it, here we are, asking for more help. $1, $5 it does not matter the amount. Truly any amount is so greatly appreciated. And Don’t worry guys Im planning on breezing through this just like I did all 3 years of me repeating Algebra II, but I am truly scared. Our entire family is. We cannot thank you all enough for your continued love and prayers and support ♥️

My friend is Richard Battles. His wife Mollie got sick about 4-6 weeks ago with feeling dizzy and unsteady. It has progressed to now where she can’t walk or use her hands to sign her name and her speech is very slurred. She has been to multiple doctors and ER’s and been told they believe it’s an immune system issue most likely Lupus or MS or GBS triggered by having Covid recently. Mollie has been out of work for a month now and Richard has now been off a week. Mollie cannot take care of herself alone and Richard can’t go back to work until it’s figured out. This has caused them to be in serious danger of losing their home and vehicles. They don’t want the help but they need the help.
