Danielle Eason & Family
Donation protected

On this day Richard prepared Mother's Day dinner for Danielle to enjoy with her boys as she returned home from work & within a few hours she started experiencing severe abdominal pain. They loaded up & went straight to the ER. Little did they know she would stay at the hospital for another 18 days!
She was diagnosed with a bile duct stone & underwent an ERCP to have it removed. After the procedure she developed pancreatitis & after 8 days of not being able to hold down a liquid diet the Drs decided she needed to rest her GI tract; a PICC line was inserted to start TPN for nutrients. On day 19 the Dr decided to send her home with the PICC line & TPN. After a week at home with no improvement she made an appointment with one of the top Gi specialists in Houston, TX. The Dr agreed to let her spend the weekend with her family to celebrate her sons 1st birthday. She was then admitted once again Monday, June 17th. A series of testing was completed and indicated gastroparesis, which means her stomach isn't emptying food into the small bowel, causing her to instead vomit every time she tries to hold anything down.
After 10 long days in the hospital she was sent home with new meds to try & relieve some of her symptoms. A week passed with, once again, no improvement, leading to severe dehydration & excruciating pain. The Dr then ordered a new PICC line to be inserted for fluid treatment at home. Her case has truly baffled the medical community- much like something you'd see in dramatic episode of Grey's Anatomy or House!
Throughout the last 8 weeks the United States Coast Guard Station in Houston has been very understanding; Richard was able to take time off for the first 4 weeks to stay at home & tend to the boys. Thankfully, they have found teenage neighbors to babysit while Richard goes into work 6am-2pm during the week. Danielle tried going back to work this week but isn't well enough just yet & was instructed to rest as much as possible or she will be readmitted to hospital.
They rely on Danielle's checks as much as they do Richards. Her being out of work for 6+ weeks is making it impossible to make ends meet. The bills are piling up & paying for sitters is becoming very difficult. I hate seeing my childhood best friend & her family struggle & am hoping making this page would help lessen the stress they are experiencing due to an unforeseen illness. Danielle & Richard would do everything in their power for someone in need. The "give-the-shirt-off-your-back" type of people you just don't find everyday. I can not think of a more deserving family to support during their difficult time. They unselfishly serve our country day in and day out, without a single complaint about the low pay, government shut downs, days/weeks apart from each other & lets not forget- uprooting your family every 2-4 years to report to a new location that you likely didn't choose.
If you can find it in your heart - ANY donation is greatly appreciated, well deserved & MUCH needed! Even if it's only $1 - it will add up! Lets show this active duty family just how much we value & appreciate their handwork & commitment to our country on this beautiful 4th of July!!
