Rich Supple 4x4x48 Challenge
Tax deductible
People do different things for different reasons. Some are motivated by money or social status. Others are motivated by a feeling or some internal catalyst. There’s always something there driving you but you can’t always put a finger on what it is.
I started running a few months back to train for a marathon in April to challenge myself physically. A good friend, Dave Bodner, introduced me to David Goggins’ 4x4x48 challenge, running 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, a total of 48 miles over 48 hours. I looked at it and thought, holy shit that’s fucking crazy!
I was intrigued, and the more I think about it, the more I believe I can get it done. Sometimes just belief in achieving something that seems impossible is as strong a driving force as there is. In my mind, I got this!
I’m planning on completing the 4x4x48 challenge from March 4 - March 6 to raise awareness and fundraise for a cause close to my heart, the treatment of Neuroendocrine Cancer. I’ve watched this cancer, with a 0% survival rate, and 100% recurrence rate eat away at my father, Rich Supple for 4 and a half years.
He was diagnosed with this horrific disease in September of 2017, and we didn’t think he’d make it to the end of the month. He underwent numerous chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy treatments just to have the cancer come back quicker and more aggressively each time. My father fought a truly impossible battle for over 4 years.
4x4x48 seems a little more manageable after thinking about his battle. It’s all about perspective. We all know someone who has battled cancer. Some are able to win their battle, many are not. My father, as hard as he fought, cannot win his battle.
If you choose to donate, whatever the amount, big or small, it will aid in the research to find a cure for this horrible disease. If anyone is local and wants to join me in running a portion (or more) of the race, I’d welcome the company. I’ll need as much support as I can get to complete this. Thank you all in advance for any support.
With Love,
