Hello, my name is Lisa, and I'm creating this fundraiser for Rich Galiche Rivera and the Rivera family.
On July 21, 2022, our friend and brother, Rich (Galiche) Rivera went through a horrific accident while working on his job. A job that he does every day and could do with his eyes closed. Thankfully, Rich’s co-workers were close by and literally saved his life!
His wife, Vanessa, received the call that Rich was hurt, and there was a helicopter on stand-by if needed. She needed to get to the hospital immediately! When she arrived, and after several CT Scans, she was told that he had suffered a skull fracture on the left side of his head, several facial fractures, a fracture behind his eardrum and that he was extremely lucky to be alive! After a team of doctors met to discuss his condition, on July 23rd, Rich was taken into surgery. He needed to have total facial reconstruction! His face were separated from his skull, and due to all of the fractures in his face, he needed to have plates and screws surgically embedded. After a grueling 6 hr surgery, our bionic man emerged with his jaw wired shut and ready to face his road to recovery. He wasn’t going to be defeated!
Rich is now home to recover and knows this is only the beginning of a long and bumpy road ahead. Anyone who knows him knows he’s up for the challenge.
During this time of healing, The Rivera’s are both out of work, uncertain of what the future will hold for their family. At this time, he’s also struggling with vision impairment and hearing loss. On top of all this, they don’t know if he will regain 100% of his full vision or hearing. This could potentially be severely damaging to their family if he is unable to return to his position with the county.
This Go Fund Me, is being set up to assist with many things they will need, while out of work. Fortunately, life continues, but unfortunately, the day-to-day bills, medical needs, food and mortgage can’t be contained. If you can find it in your heart to donate any amount, I can assure you the gratefulness the Rivera Family will feel would be overwhelming and greatly appreciated.
God bless
