UWC o Collegi del Mondo Unito è un movimento nato nel 1962 dall’idea Kurt Hanh, pedagogista tedesco con lo scopo di formare la nuova leadership mondiale durante la guerra fredda, formando ragazzi di Est ed Ovest insieme. Ancora oggi, nonostante lo scenario storico e sociale sia radicalmente cambiato, UWC segue questa filosofia: 18 collegi, distribuiti su 4 continenti, frequentati da ragazzi tra i 16 e i 19 anni, provenienti da ogni angolo del pianeta, con background socioeconomici, culturali, religiosi ed etnici molto diversi, che affrontano insieme un biennio considerato cruciale per la loro formazione individuale, dei loro valori e del loro orientamento.
Ciò che accomuna tutti gli studenti è l’autentico impegno a esercitare un’azione positiva sulla società, per la costruzione di un mondo più giusto e più equo.
UWC rende l’istruzione una forza per unire popoli, nazioni e culture per la pace e per un futuro sostenibile.

Sono nato e cresciuto a Milano; sto terminando il terzo anno di Liceo Classico Europeo presso l’Educandato Statale E. Setti Carraro dalla Chiesa.
Mi piace mettermi in gioco e non mi spaventa la fatica: sono in una squadra agonistica di canottaggio, cerco di mettermi al servizio degli altri attraverso il volontariato per la Fondazione Francesca Rava NPH e sono membro attivo della comunità scolastica come Rappresentante d’Istituto alla Consulta Provinciale degli Studenti della Lombardia.

Il collegio UWC rappresenta una grande opportunità per la mia formazione, per poter avere nuovi strumenti da mettere al servizio della società, grazie non solo alla ricchezza accademica del curriculum IB, ma anche all’atmosfera veramente internazionale, aperta e multiculturale in cui avrò modo vivere.

Ho superato una selezione a livello nazionale che ha ammesso all'interno del movimento 30 studenti dei 400 candidati.
Ad agosto partirò per UWC USA, l'unico college UWC negli Stati Uniti, situato a Montezuma, New Mexico. Ho ricevuto la conferma che nonostante la pandemia globale i corsi inizieranno regolarmente.

Non ho ancora deciso l’indirizzo universitario, ma vorrei poter dare il mio apporto alla società inventando nuove risposte e soluzioni ai bisogni delle persone, attività che mi appassiona da quando ero bambino e che vorrei trasformare nella mia professione.

Supportando il mio progetto di formazione potrai non solo contare su una persona in più portatrice di valori quali il rispetto per l’ambiente, la tolleranza, l’empatia e la valorizzazione delle differenze, ma sarai anche co-fondatore di un’iniziativa di amplificazione che avvierò con l’obiettivo di aumentare la notorietà dei Collegi Uniti del Mondo in Italia.

Ho ottenuto una borsa di studio parziale che coprirà il 50% delle spese per un'importo di $40400 totali. A mio carico è l'altra metà della retta pari a $20200 all'anno per due anni. Include il programma IB, vitto, alloggio e spese scolastiche in genere. Il valore del mio obiettivo è espresso in euro con il tasso di cambio attuale (Maggio 2020)

UWC or United World Colleges is a movement born in 1962 from the idea of Kurt Hanh, a German pedagogist with the aim of forming the new world leadership during the Cold War, training East and West children together. Even today, although the historical and social scenario has radically changed, UWC follows this philosophy: 18 colleges, distributed on 4 continents, attended by children between 16 and 19 years old, coming from every corner of the planet, with socio-economic, cultural and religious backgrounds and very different ethnic groups, who together face a two-year period considered crucial for their individual training, their values and their orientation.
What unites all students is the authentic commitment to exert a positive action on society, for the construction of a fairer and fairer world.
UWC makes education a force to unite peoples, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.

I was born and raised in Milan; I am finishing the third year of “Liceo Classico Europeo” at the “Educandato Statale E. Setti Carraro dalla Chiesa”. I like to get involved and I am not afraid by effort: I am in a competitive rowing team, I try to put myself at the service of others through volunteering for the Fondazione Francesca Rava NPH foundation and I am an active member of the school community as I represent my school in the “Consulta Provinciale” of the Students of Lombardy.

UWC represents a great opportunity for my training, in order to have new tools to put at the service of society, thanks not only to the academic wealth of the IB curriculum, but also to the truly international, open and multicultural atmosphere in which I will have the opportunity to live.

I passed a national selection that admitted 30 students out of the 400 candidates within the movement.
In August I will leave for UWC USA, the only UWC college in the United States, located in Montezuma, New Mexico. I have been confirmed that, despite the global pandemic, courses will start regularly.

I have not yet decided on the university field of studies, but I would like to be able to give my contribution to society by inventing new answers and solutions to people's needs, an activity that I have been passionate about since I was a child and that I would like to transform into my profession.

By supporting my training project you will not only be able to count on one more person carrying values such as respect for the environment, tolerance, empathy and the enhancement of differences, but you will also be co-founder of an amplification initiative that I will start with the aim of increasing the awareness of the United Colleges of the World in Italy.

I got a partial scholarship that will cover 50% of the expenses in the amount of $ 40400 total. The other half of my tuition is $ 20,200 a year for two years. It includes the IB program, food, accommodation and school expenses in general. My target value is expressed in euros at the current exchange rate (May 2020)
