Ricardo Colon's Fight Against Lymphoma
Donation protected
At 61, Rick was suddenly diagnosed with Large B-Cell Lymphoma in December of 2022. He underwent six rounds of chemotherapy at Dana Farber in Foxboro. For those who know him know he has always been a healthy and active individual.
This aggressive disease did not respond well to chemo however, it led to another hopeful treatment option called CAR T-Cell therapy. On July 3rd he was admitted to a long months stay to BWH undergoing this therapy where his family stayed with him. During his follow-up appointment on August 1, 2023, he was diagnosed as cancer free.
As he entered remission, just a short month later he began to experience left sided weakness. He was re-admitted to BWH in September and was found to have a recurrence of lymphoma in his abdomen and a new CNS involvement in his brain.

After this devastating news, Rick underwent an abdominal and brain biopsy for further evaluation. In October 2023, he was diagnosed with CNS Lymphoma in his brain. He underwent dual treatments for his brain and abdomen but received minimal response for his now Stage 4 lymphoma (most advanced stage).
Today, he still continues to fight during this year long journey. Rick is experiencing very little movement on his left side as well as memory and cognitive difficulties. Due to his minimal improvement, his family has decided it is best for him to return home alongside them where he will need 24 hour care and assistance with daily activities.
Although this GoFundMe was not a request, I feel as though these donations will help alleviate some financial stress assisting with treatment costs and go towards at home care to help make his remaining time as comfortable as possible.
If you are unable, to contribute financially, we ask that you keep him in your prayers. We thank you all for your continuous support ❤️
