During an annual routine visit on January 23, 2018 doctors were concerned over bruising on Riana's feet that spread up to her legs and torso. They drew labs and Riana was sent home. Riana's mom Shawn received a call that changed their life. Shawn was told to bring her to the hospital right away. When they got there they ran more labs and then a spinal tap which confirmed that Riana had ALL type B (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). 

Riana's journey has been extremely difficult with lengthy hospital stays, PICC lines, treatments, surgeries, ports, infections, skin grafting, numerous spinal taps and of course all the side effects from chemotherapy. 

As anyone would guess this has been an emotional and financial strain on this beautiful seventeen year old girl and her family who continues to trust in the Lord and remain positive. As of now it's an ongoing process of 16 more months of oral chemo and many more spinal taps to ensure the spinal fluid, bone marrow and brain remains clear of cancer. 

Riana's wish is to make memories with her family. We are starting the wish process and believing in it being granted. If the approval goes through we will use the additional funding to help with the Make A Wish trip. Funds are needed to cover continuing medical cost and to assist in completing Riana's wish in allowing her brothers to accompany her on her trip.
